This tool is intended to help winegrape growers and vintners understand which environmental permits and licenses apply to the vineyard and/or winery and provides background information and resources to determine next steps to comply with relevant permits and/or obtain licenses. These permits and licenses apply to areas such as water quality, water supply, air quality, and hazardous materials and wastes. 

This report produced by California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance (CSWA) shows broad participation in our educational and certification programs, and wide implementation of sustainable practices in vineyards and wineries around the state.

This tool provides wineries with easy-to-follow steps for estimating the volume of solid waste generated at their facility by type: pomace and lees, diatomaceous earth, barrels, glass, cardboard, paper, capsules, cork, plastic, wood pallets, packaging, bins, food, landscaping yard waste, and metals.
